iPhone Users Download More Paid Apps
About 50 % of iPhone holders download a minimum of 1 paid app every month. Users of iPod Touch, Android and webOS are less eager to pay for applications. These are the results of the Mobile Metrics Record that was made by AdMob in January 2010. The report is uncovering some intriguing information about apps usage and demographics for the 4 popular mobile devices and handsets.

Nearly a thousand of users was interviewed for the report. Half of the respondents assured that they downloaded at least 1 paid iPhone app per month. You can see that iPhone consumers are more willing to pay for applications and games. At the same time iPod Touch users are more eager to download free apps. Their monthly amount of downloaded applications is bigger than the amount of apps got by iPhone clients.
According to the questionnaire, an average user of iPod Touch downloads about 12 apps per month paying for 1.6 % of the programs, while an iPhone user downloads over 8 applications with 1.8 % of them being paid for.
Let’s take a closer look at demographics of mobile devices users. According to the survey, over 73 % of men prefer Androids while iPhones, iPods and webOS’s are enjoyed by 56 % of male. About 78 % of iPod Touch holders are under 25 years old.
The report asked respondents about their eagerness to suggest their devices to others. iPhone and iPod Touch users are on top of the list while webOS users would rather not recommend their device on purpose.
