Lost iPhone 4G Prototype News: Police Breaks into Gizmodo Editor’s House

Share/Save/Bookmark

iPhone 4G prototype was reported stolen from Apple soon after the article about the unreleased secret device appeared on Gizmodo. It was written by journalist-editor Jason Chen who works for Gizmodo. Well, police raided his home on Friday without Chen present. Two servers, 4 computers, Chen’s iPhone, iPad and other electronic devices were seized.

Police broke into Gizmodo editor’s house using a warrant by Judge of Superior Court of San Mateo, California. According to Gaby Darbyshire, COO of Gawker Media LLC, the search warrant to remove these computers was invalid under section 1524(g) of the California Penal Code.

You can see all documentation at Gizmodo.com or following this link.

Gizmodo’s owner Gawker Media demands all the items to be returned as they think that the police search was conducted illegally.

Right now the investigation on the lost iPhone 4G has come to a pause. The District Attorney has to reconsider the legality of their warrant to raid Gizmodo. It’s just an investigation right now.
