Dev Team Warns Users to Not Update to iTunes 9.1.1

Share/Save/Bookmark

If you want to use a userland jailbreak for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad, you better hold off on updating to iTunes 9.1.1. This warning has been made by famous iPhone hack Dev Team.

According to MuscleNerd Twitter post, it’s safe to use iTunes 9.1.1 for Pwnage and RedSn0w. If you are planning to use these jailbreak tools, you can update to the new iTunes and not worry about it.

However, if you are hoping to use UL jailbreaks (for example, Spirit), you better wait.

Why should you avoid iTunes updates? It’s pretty simple. If you use userland jailbreaks, iTunes can detect and remove them.

Spirit tool created by comex might be the first iPad jailbreak. It might also provide an untethered jailbreak for iPod touch and iPhone 3GS.

You can watch this video about the Spirit jailbreak left by MuscleNerd on YouTube.
