iPhone 2G is Still Popular!
iPhone 2G is still alive... Mobile Ads Company AdMob, known for its banners in free apps, has published its monthly report. It shares information about the types and firmware of the iPhone that include ads that are actually viewed by users.

According to the studies, 2% of all Apple devices (not counting the iPad) that are connected to the AdMob network are iPhone 2G! Of course, the leader is iPhone 3GS, and this is not a surprise.

There is one interesting fact in this statistics.
Apple reports over 6 million of the first generation iPhone being sold in 2007-2008. And this was the time when iPhone 3G first appeared. Apple has sold a total of 50 millions of its iPhone and 35 millions of its iPod touch by March 2010.
Thus, iPhone 2G makes 7% of total iPhones sold.
We can make a conclusion now that about one third of iPhone 2G are still owned by many iPhone users!
