Should you buy and unlock iphone 2g, iphone 3g or iphone 3gs?

0

How can iphone unlock 2g influence your purchase decision between iphone 2g, 3g and 3gs?

While iphone unlock 2g is easy to perform, unlock 3g and iphone unlock 3gs might have bugs and other problems. Think twice about the device you are getting. Thus, iphone unlock 2g is so quick, simple and always possible, you can install any games and apps you like on your iphone 2g. However, it’s often impossible to safely jailbreak iphone with 3.1.3 firmware.

Apple iphone 2g (the first generation) was launched almost two years ago. This device was a revolution at those times. Many people purchased it; however, they quickly understood that their mobile device was locked to one carrier and one store (Apple store, of course). Hackers easily found a way how to unlock iphone 2g and jailbreak iphone because first generation iPhone wasn’t protected that well. For example, it took Geohot (a famous iPhone hacker) only two hours to unlock iphone with 3.1.2 OS.

The second generation (iphone 3g and iphone 3gs) firmware was protected better. The new bootrom isn’t that easy to jailbreak and unlock. Surely, Geohot and Dev Team would unlock all 3gs and 3g sooner or later, however, right now users are still locked to the particular applications and games. But, iphone users now free from AT&T, because Apple finally sells iphones without a contract.

The iphone unlock 2g happened very soon because there were many “holes” or crashes in iphone 2g baseband updates. Both iphone unlock 3g and 3gs have less “holes” because Apple improved the firmware and protected from hackers this way. Apple added extra security called ECID+iBSS, which was mentioned in our later article.

So should you buy iphone 2g or give preference to the second generation of Apple’s gadgets? I suggest you to know about the differences between the two generations of iPhones. Next, I will give you the differences between the iPhone 2g (or first generation) iPhone and it’s newer counterpart, the iPhone 3g.

To begin with design, I want to say that the screen size is exactly the same at 3.5″ on both models, which provides for an ultra-clear 480?320 screen resolution. Both of them have shiny metal piece around the outside of the screen, but backside of iphone 2g is metal and backside of iphone 3g is black or white. Home and power buttons are absolutely same. The shape of the iphone 3g is a major difference as the iphone 2g is a little thicker and completely flat when set down. The iphone 3g has more of a round feel to it than iphone 2g. Iphone 3g as heavy as iphone 3g.There is very small difference in their weights: iphone 2g weighs 4.8 ounces, and iphone 3g weighs 4.7 ounces.
Next differences are features. The iphone 2g supported WiFi, GSM, and Bluetooth. This means its speed surfing the Internet is quite limited. The iphone 3g was introduced with 3g speeds, and it also supports WiFi, GSM, and Bluetooth. This makes for a better experience surfing Internet, watching Youtube videos, and downloading data on the iphone from the Internet. The iphone 3g supports GPS, which was not included in the iPhone 2g.
Finally, battery life is different. The iphone 2g beats out the iphone 3g in battery life by providing up to 8 hours of talk-time compared to 5 hours with the 3g. Well, you have all major differences you have to know choosing which iphone generation to use.

Once again, it’s up to you to decide whether you should purchase iphone 2g that is easily to unlock, jailbreak and open to any applications, games and carriers; or you would better get and unlock 3g or iphone 3gs. They have more great features than iphone 2g, but when you unlock and jailbreak iphone 3g and 3gs, they have more bugs.

iphone-3.1.3-jailbreak

Apple has unexpectedly introduced a modest update, iPhone 3.1.3 for all iPhone users. Today the iPhone 3.1.3 update was launched to people who likely use iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch. The update for the iPhone and iPod touch operating system is available for download through iTunes This is not the same version which runs on the iPhone OS 3.2. This update does not really add anything new, but it includes mostly irritate fixes. If you would like to jailbreak or unlock your iPhone, you must know following. If you have an unlocked iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS DO NOT UPDATE to this new firmware. That’s because if you make a mistake you may find yourself stuck at official 3.1.3 with no way to jailbreak or come back down to 3.1.2 to jailbreak. Updating to the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware will completely update your baseband. The newer baseband does not support software unlocking. Wait for the new jailbreaking and unlocking tools before updating your device or you may loose the capability to jailbreak or unlock it in future. If you update your iPhone to new firmware, it will become a useless phone. Also, the iPhone 3.1.3 firmware updates the baseband to 05.12.01. It’s possible to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 OS but only if your baseband hasn’t been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer baseband. You must create a custom firmware that uses the 04.26.08 baseband.

iPhone 3.1.3 OS Firmware is now Available

Update: There might not be an iPhone 3.1.3 Blackrain Jailbreak coming.

It has been a while after the iPhone OS continues to be updated, so it is dependant on time that this newest version, the iPhone OS 3.1.3, was already released. The key problem there are not any goodies and not any major incentives to actually update.

The iPhone 3.1.3 OS can be acquired for all iPhone versions and it is also compatible using all iPod Touch versions.

Enable Tethering on iPhone 3.1.2 Firmware with blacksn0w

The new blacksn0w unlock for iPhone 3.1.2 firmware can enable official tethering option on iPhone 3G and 3GS. For those of you who don’t know, Internet Tethering is a process which enables you to use your iPhone as a wireless modem to share its Internet connection with a computer via USB cable or Bluetooth interface.

The following step by step guide is for those of you who have recently jailbroken and unlocked your iPhone using blackra1n RC3 with blacksn0w.

Step 1: You will first need to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone 3G or 3GS using blackra1n RC3 with blacksn0w. Follow the complete step by step guide here

Step 2: Once you are done with the jailbreak and unlock, start Safari web browser on your iPhone and navigate to:

http://m.peacefulinsanity.com/Tether.mobileconfig

Step 3: Safari will now prompt you to install an unsigned US AT&T Tethering .IPCC file on your iPhone. Allow the file to install by touching on install button.

Step 4: Now reboot your iPhone by first holding down the “Home” button, followed by “Power” button simultaneously until you see Apple logo on the screen.

Step 5: Once your phone has been restarted, simply navigate to Settings->General->Network->Internet Tethering on your iPhone and turn on the toggle for Internet Tethering.

That’s it! Tethering should now be running perfectly on your jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 2G/3G and 3GS running firmware 3.1.2.
